Q: How long will my beer last?
A: Our growlers should keep your beer for 3-5 days. However like other growlers, once opened, the carbonation will evacuate the growler meaning it is time to enjoy your brew before it goes flat! Ceramic is a natural insulator meaning if your beer goes in cold, it will stay cold inside our growlers for about 6 hours.
Q: Where can I fill it?
A: Our growlers have the required information for filling stamped on the bottom meaning that you can legally fill it in any area that growlers are filled. In rare cases some establishments will only fill glass and plastic growlers but this is simply a preference.
Q: My lid isn't sitting right. Is there a way to avoid the loose seal?
A: Absolutely! Because our growlers are handmade, there are going to be variations in each growler. However, we will not ship a growler if we cannot get the gasket to sit properly on the lip. If your growler has a gasket or seal problem, try rotating the lid or placing the lid where you want it to rest before clamping down the hardware!
Q: Can I get a custom growler?
A: No. Custom growlers are reserved for accounts that order in bulk and in this scenario we allow the customer to choose a decal to have placed on our growlers.
Q: I was given a growler as a gift but I would rather have a different one. Can I swap it out?
A: Southern Growler is happy to swap out a growler that you received as a gift. Give us your address and we will send you a box with all of the materials needed to send it back. An invoice for shipping will be sent to you and your new growler will be replaced as soon as we have it in stock!
Q: Is it dishwasher safe?
A: Yes! Our growlers can go in the dishwasher but most growler fill gurus will tell you that you should not put soap into your growler unless you really really really need to because you will taste the soap in your next fill. We have found that a hot water rinse when you are finished it plenty of cleaning.
Q: Is my growler leaking from the bottom?
A: No. Because the growler is glazed on the inside and out, liquid cannot escape. However, when you get it filled, some liquid from rinsing or overflow out of the tap will soak into the bare bottom of the growler. Over time, that liquid will find its way out and appear to be a leak on the bottom.
